High efficiency and long service life

With energy effiency class A, fluorescent lamps are among the most efficient light sources around. They save up to 85% of energy compared to incandescent lamps. They are therefore ideally suited for use in areas requiring long periods of illumination, such as desks. For health and safety, environmental and cost efficiency reasons, it is recommended to use fluorescent lamps with a ballast.The use of a ballast provides more pleasant lighting, preventing flickering when switched on as well as the production of stroboscopic effects and it also causes the lamp to simply switch off when it reaches the end of its service life.
This improved light quality promotes health and well-being Electronically powered fluorescent lamps have an approximately 50% longer service life than conventionally powered ones. As a result, they have a service life of up to 20,000 hours, which equates to approximately 18 years when used for three hours per day. In addition, the power loss of the ballast is reduced by 25-30%, which is good for the environment and for your wallet.

 

Soft light with few shadows

Because of its reach, the light emitted by a fluorescent lamp is even softer and casts fewer shadows than compact fluorescent lamps.
Its colour rendering is R_a = 85. Full-spectrum lamps provide even better quality light, with a colour rendering of R_a=91.
Since they offer light that is similar to natural sunlight, such lamps are thought to improve performance and reduce stress. Fluorescent lamps are available in different shapes: bar-shaped, ring-shaped or U-shaped. Fluorescent lamps fitted with a dimmable ballast can be dimmed.
The diameter of a fluorescent tube can be specified in different units. Often a mm specification is provided, however, specifications in eighths of an inch are also common. .

Example:
T16 = 16mm = T5 = 5/8" or T26 = 26mm = T8 = 8/8".

This means that T16 fluorescent lamps have the same diameter as T5 lamps. Lights that accommodate T16 lamps are more efficient than T26 lamps. Additionally, lights designed to accommodate T16 fluorescent lamps are also significantly smaller than those intended for T26 lamps.
It is therefore recommended to make use of innovative and efficient T16 fluorescent lamps.
